She was made Administrator to the estate of her brother, Octavius Blyth, on 18 Jan 1867. She died on 5 Mar 1877 in Colchester, Essex. From the entry in The Times newspaper "On 5 March, age 67, Elizabeth Charlotte Sparling, eldest daughter of the late Daniel Oathwaite Blyth, Esq J.P. and the beloved wife of Philip Smith Sparling, Solicitor, of Colchester. R.I.P." 1867: Elizabeth was living in Colchester.
1871 Census: Aged 61, living at Abbeygate House, Colchester (Holy Trinity) with husband and son.

She obtained a marriage license on 6 Jan 1842. Philip was from St Mary at the Walls, Colchester, Elizabeth was from St Leonards, Colchester. Both were above the age of 21 and single. The marriage was due to take place at St Leonards Church, Colchester. She was married to Philip Smith SPARLING (son of William SPARLING and Mary TILLS) on 11 Jan 1842 in St Leonards, Colchester, Essex. Witnesses to the marriage were Arthur Blyth and Frederick Edmund Blyth. Philip Smith SPARLING was born on 21 Oct 1804 in Colchester, Essex. He was an Attourney at Law as per 1841 Census in Colchester, Essex. 1867 Post Office Directory for Essex: Philip is listed as a Solicitor in St Johns Street, Colchester. He also appears under the following sections: Clerk and Register to Colchester Burial Board; Commissioners for taking acknowledgements of married women; Commissioners for Taking Oaths in Chancery. He was buried in Colchester, Essex. 1841 Census: Philip, 35, is living at St John's Street, Colchester with Jane Sparling.
1842: Marriage certificate states Philip's address as St Mary at the Wall, Colchester.
1860: The family were living in Abbeygate Street, Colchester.
1871 Census: Living at Abbeygate House, Holy Trinity, Colchester with his wife and son, Francis.
1881: Census shows him, aged 76, widowed and living at Schere House, St. Johns Street, Colchester (Holy Trinity) with his son. They had a housekeeper and a general domestic servant. Elizabeth Charlotte BLYTH and Philip Smith SPARLING had the following children:
